Ticket-Zoff in the Champions League: Klopp shoots against the UEFA
If you want to get hold of an admission ticket for the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid FC, you need two things: a lot of money and even more luck. That doesn't just annoy fans. Jürgen Klopp is also a thorn in the side. In his eyes, UEFA is primarily responsible for this.
Because both clubs for the final in Paris get just under 20,000 tickets, only go on sale free of charge, but at the same time over 20,000 tickets are reserved exclusively for sponsors and guests of honor and the ticket price has increased by a whopping 38 percent compared to 2018, the Liverpool fan association "Spirit of Shankly" complained in an official letter to the UEFA.
The reason for the letter is the horrendous admission prices. The cards of the two best categories for the LFC supporters cost between £ 410 and 578 (480 and 675 euros). More than half of the available tickets costs £ 125 each (approx. 150 euros). Too much, says Jürgen Klopp.
He has a complete understanding of the fans' trouble, Klopp said on Friday when he was asked about the letter from the fan association. The procedure of the UEFA is "absolutely not correct, but it is the case everywhere". He is annoyed that only 50 percent of normal fans get tickets at all and "the rest of people go to people who can pay thousands of pounds. But this is how all the money is made," said Klopp.
Klopp criticizes UEFA
The majority would think as he thought, added the LFC coach: "The UEFA are not the holy people of football. They were never. What they have with the Champions League is a fantastic product. should. But now they have lost some money here and there. " Therefore, pricing policy has also changed, said Klopp.
The trainer also reported on friends who booked a hotel room in Paris a few weeks ago. "And then they got a call in which it was said that you will get your money back because the prices have tripled since then. Nobody is interested. This is the world we live in."
Nothing will change, Klopp believes: "No matter what we say. In a few months we will also have a World Cup in Qatar. Nobody talks about how that could happen. Of the people who No one is in office anymore, but the World Cup is still there. It's also about money. "
